SUGPAT handovers ZNYDA Strategic Plan to Zambo del Norte Governor Uy
Last August 12, on International Youth Day, The SUGPAT Program handovers the “Zamboanga del Norte Youth Development Alliance (ZNYDA) Comprehensive Strategic Plan for 2021-2022” to Zamboanga del Norte Governor Roberto Uy. The comprehensive strategic plan is the product of the ZNYDA members’ planning and strategizing for the past year since the alliance was officially established.
“Today, I would particularly give recognition to the tireless effort of the ZNYDA in giving guidance to anyone who seeks assistance for work, training, education, and any other activities that will add value to the lives of our fellow. You have made me proud; you have made our Province of Zamboanga del Norte very proud,” Governor Uy said in the online ceremony, which happened the morning of August 12.
The document was handed over to Governor Uy by Provincial Youth Development Officer Carl Rubia at the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Capitol in the afternoon.
The ZNYDA comprehensive strategic plan encapsulates the outcomes of the workshops and meetings of its members. The document also contains the documentation of the entire strategic planning process, which includes articulating the mission and vision of ZNYDA, the results of the SWOT and PEST Analysis and the Problem Tree Approach, and building the action plan.
In a message of support, SUGPAT Program Director said that SUGPAT’s journey with the province of Zamboanga del Norte has been edifying. He continued, “We are edified by the ownership and collaboration among different government agencies, SK federation, and youth-led and youth-serving organizations. No calamity, not even a pandemic of this proportion, could stop the ZNYDA members from convening, conversing, and planning for the improvement of services for young people in the province.”
Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s The SUGPAT Program provided technical assistance to the province of Zamboanga del Norte in establishing the provincial-wide youth development alliance in Zamboanga del Norte, and in the creation of the ZNYDA Strategic Plan under the Power for Youth Project of ING and UNICEF.
The online event was also attended by partners from UNICEF Philippines, Ms. Maria Melizza Tan and Mr. Avelino Mejia, Ms. Geri Elopre from Zuellig Family Foundation, Atty Mary May Abellon from the Provincial Legal Office, Ms. Nenita Maningo from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Mr. Carl Rubia, the Provincial Youth Development Officer, and Ms. Miles Tejada from the Zamboanga del Norte SK Federation.
