To move forward with the Zamboanga del Norte Youth Development Alliance (ZNYDA) after the executive order was signed that signals its official establishment, a think tank was formed to strengthen the strategic planning for the alliance.
The ZNYDA Think Tank is the core group that will pre-plan and initiate program planning for the alliance.
On June 25, 2020, the initial meeting of the ZNYDA Think Tank was facilitated by Jan Cutin, Project Officer of Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s SUGPAT Program, together with the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Youth Development Officer (PYDO), Carl Michael Rubia and SK Provincial Federation President Miles Tejada.
The think tank is composed of Hon. Miles Tejada, PYDO Carl Rubia, AdZU SUGPAT, Department of Education represented by Zamboanga del Norte ALS Focal Person, Dr. Leynie Boy Bellino, Zamboanga del Norte Federation of Parents Association (ZNFePA) represented by the Program Manager, Mr. Mark Anthony Sumandig and Project Coordinator, Mr. Mark Paul Embodo,
The first ZNYDA Think Tank meeting discussed and drafted actions on tracing the out-of-school youth in Zamboanga del Norte, and structuring referral mechanism for the youth to have access to continued education, entrepreneurial, employment and volunteering opportunities.
Following the conversation of tracing the out-of-school youth in the province, the think tank met once again on July 15 where AdZU SUGPAT Project Officer Jan Cutin presented UNICEF’s Children Information and Location Database (Project ChILD) which will be piloted to two (2) municipalities in Zamboanga del Norte. Project ChILD is foreseen by the alliance as an effective tool to help trace the out-of-school youth in the province.
The meeting was attended by the Department of Education Zamboanga del Norte Division represented by Mr. Jessie Elacan, Education Program Specialist for Alternative Learning System, Mr. Ramon Amado, Zamboanga del Norte Federation of Parents Association (ZNFePA) represented by Program Manager, Mark Anthony Sumandig and Project Coordinator Mark Paul Embodo.
The Second ZNYDA Think Tank Meeting was hosted by the office of SK Provincial Federation President Miles Tejada and presided by Provincial Youth Development Officer Carl Michael Rubia.
