To raise awareness on mental health among adolescents and youth, Children and Adolescents Mental Health Workshop was held last November 16 at Sauras Hall, Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

The one-day workshop was organized by the Council for the Welfare of Children, UNICEF Philippines and Department of Health, in partnership with AdZU-SUGPAT and Katilingban.

Twenty adolescents ages 13 – 17 years old with experience in conflicted areas participated in the said activity.

The one-day mental health camp aims to raise awareness among the participants about mental health and the importance of having sound mental health.

The mental health camp also served as an avenue for the participants to know about the available mental health services for them and their right to access mental health services.

Norma Baluca from Ateneo de Zamboanga University College Guidance and Counseling Office facilitated the workshop.

Zamboanga is one of the four places in the country where the activity was held.
