180 contextualized worksheets turned over to ALS Implementers

One hundred eighty (180) contextualized worksheets were officially turned over to the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Implementers last July 5, 2019, at Westend Court Hotel, Dipolog City.

The turnover ceremony was witnessed by a crowd of more than 90. Among them were the Provincial Vice Governor of Zamboanga del Norte, Senen Angeles, Director of DepEd Bureau of Learning Delivery Marilette Almayda, Regional Director, Isabelita Borres, UNICEF Education Officer, Carl Moog, and the writers of the worksheets themselves – the ALS Implementers who were part of the Power for Youth Training held last May 19-24, 2019.

“Your work in creating the 180 contextualized worksheets is our proof that no one organization can do it alone. That it really takes a community to raise a child,” SUGPAT Program Director said.

The reviewed and validated contextualized work-readiness modules that were turned over are the first supplementary material for ALS in the region.

The contextualized worksheets aim to deliver new effective methods in better providing effective method that is best fit for the ALS learners depending on their backgrounds.

Marilette Almayda, Director of DepEd Bureau of Learning Delivery said, “You are holding all these things because we realize that these are very important tools and materials when we deliver ALS.”

After the ceremony, an orientation of the worksheets was given by Anita Tagadiad, AdZU School of Education Professional Education Chair. The orientation aims to cater to the needs of the ALS Implementers on how to use the worksheets in their ALS classes in the Community Learning Centers.

Also in attendance during the half-day event were the Regional ALS Coordinator, Division ALS Focal Person, Division IPEd Focal Person, Division SPED Supervisor, Education Program Specialists for ALS (EPSA), Muslim Education Program (MEP) Coordinator, ALIVE in ALS Implementers, District ALS Coordinators, and ALS Mobile Teachers, Ateneo de Zamboanga University School of Education Faculty, and the AdZU- SUGPAT team.
