We graduated w/ 24 participants, Joseph Vincent Suarez was our mentor. It was held from Nov 7-11 @ Palacio del Sur.
The Participatory Video Workshop focuses on storytelling through videograpy.
SUGPAT was able to gather and teach 24 Out-of-School youth learners, aged 15-24 coming from different ethnic backgrounds, religious affiliations and sexual orientations.
The PV workshop taught the participants how to creatively build a story from the influence on their current community issues then transforming it into a short film.
In addition, the workshop made use of the module on discrimination, diversity and intercultual harmony. It culminated with a film festival showcasing the outputs of the learners.

ABOUT THE MENTOR
Joseph Vincent Suarez Graduated Cum Laude in Ateneo De Zamboanga University, with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication.
A GawadUrian nominee for a short film he directed entitled Con Enfermedad Y Buen Saludin the year 2014. In the recently conducted QCinema in Quezon City, the short film he produced entitled ‘ Hondo ‘ won Best Picture.
A 2016 fellow of Film Leaders Incubator in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and in Higashikawa, Japan.
Recently worked in full-length features as assistant director. On the side, a segment producer for ANC’s Green Living
And Current working on his project: a first full length feature as producer, entitled Unang Patakng Ulan sa Buwan ng Mayo, which is also a Cinemalaya 2017 finalist.
